Just recently moved back to the states from Germany and had to replace all my household appliances. I decided to go in a sporty red to spice up my otherwise boring looking kitchen. When the toaster arrived I first noticed that I ordered it the wrong color. Didn't pay attention that this toaster was not red but rather cinnamon gloss. To be honest - The cinammon gloss is a much nicer and deeper red than my other appliances and I wish I had bought all of them in cinnamon color. Anyway - clearly my fault. And with the toaster sitting in a darker corner it's not even that noticable.
The Bagel setting is great. For once I have bagels only toasted on the inside like it's supposed to be. No more dealing with a burned crust. Fabulous.
As described in the other reviews it does have a three prong plug which doesn't bother me much. I live in a brand new renovated house which fortunately is equipped with plenty of matching plugs.
Also I am definitely happy with the toasting results. Sometimes it seems to be bewitched which results in the top half of my bread being more toasted than the bottom but that only happens every now and then.
The only problem we are haviing sometimes is the fact that the bread doesn't fit. It cleary depends on the bread company. Some of the wider breads do fit while others don't. It doesn't bother me much if I sometimes have to cut a piece of th ecrust off to make it fit but I see that some people might not like this.
Over all I think it is a great toaster with fabulous looks.

I like a lot of things about this toaster...I like the handsome styling, I like the robust build quality, I *love* the "Bagel" setting that only toasts the inside (sliced side) of bagels and doesn't burn the outside like my old toaster did. I like the numbered setting (no more arcane fiddling with the slider when someone else in the household changes the settings), and I like the adjustable clamps that allow for thick items like bagels yet hold thin bread slices in position.
There are a couple of flaws, as mentioned in other reviews--one, it has a 3-pronged plug along with a giant flag on the cord warning you not to use an adapter (I did anyway--what am I supposed to do, call an electrician and have the outlet replaced?); two, the slots aren't quite long enough for the new-style wide loaves of bread now so popular at the supermarket.
But mainly, it doesn't toast terribly evenly. The tops of the slices are always darker than the bottoms, and the toasting is in "streaks" rather than evenly over the whole slice. In an apparently well-engineered (even over-engineered) product, the engineers somewhat overlooked the basic function of the device, which is...to evenly brown a slice of bread. It's not that bad, and I can live with it (I'd better be able to...my last toaster cost $11 and lasted 18 years), but there's room for improvement in this respect.

We bought this toaster for our daughter and son-in-law to match their red KitchenAid mixer. Unfortunately, the toaster was cinnamon red instead of "red" red like their mixer. Our mistake. But, they loved the toaster so much that they kept it. Turns out if they are not sitting side by side you can't see the color difference. They comment on how much they love the toaster almost every time we visit. They have really put it through the paces and get good results with bagels, sliced bread, home-baked bread and pastries.

"Santa" brought us this toaster for Christmas, along with specialty muffins. He did his research prior to shipment at several sites including Consumer Research, where it was rated a best buy. The first week we toasted the muffins and bagels, it did a great job. It was great not to fight with items stuck in slots that are too narrow for thick items.
However, no one mentioned that the toaster slots are not long enough for many brands of bread, including Arnold, Pepperidge Farm and others. This is not a measurement that I thought about since even our real old toaster from 1970 fits those brands. Now we are stuck cutting off the crusts to make the bread fit into the slots of an rather expensive toaster. arrg.

The toaster is nice,a little larger than expected. Also it needs a three prong plug in which was not noted in description.
