 "Powerful Motor" 2010-03-31
By Marta (California)
It bought this item to replace an older model KitchenAid blender. I was so pleased to find the powerful motor did what my old one did in almost half the time. Love It! I have all Kitchenaid appliancs. I am truly satisfied with my purchase:)The only con is that you can't put it in the dishwasher because the bottom will fill with water since is one piece pitcher and you can't wash it sideways, still so worth every penny.

 "Awesome Blender" 2010-03-24
By T.Laco (NH)
First of all, Cook's Illustrated recommends it; enough said.

Number 1: Polycarb jar. No, it doesn't stain or smell, (unless you leave tomato juice in it for a week). Plus, if you drop it on the floor the only thing you'll be picking up is the intact jar, NOT GLASS. I personally love this blender's jar because with the wide base I can put it straight into the refrigerator if I have anything left over. Again, it won't stain. The spout on the top comes in really useful when I make pancake batter in it, I put everything into the jar, mix, and then pour straight into the pan.

I've never had any sort of leaking, that issue was fixed been fixed several years ago by KitchenAid.

Number 2: Buttons. I really don't get people who buy blenders with the old style buttons that have an air gap around them. The first time you spill something (and you will if you're using a blender a lot or even a little) it's going to go right into the base, and it's NEVER going to get clean. Give me this flat panel button type any day, incredibly easy to clean, nice tactile response.

Number 3: All the speed settings you could want. Plus ice crushing. The KitchenAid comes with 5 different speeds, plus a pulse feature that can be used with each one. Plus every speed starts off slow for a second and then switches into its mode. The "Soft-Start" feature they mention.

Number 4: Heavy base. Never had a problem with it "walking" and I'velet it sit and blend for a couple minutes on liquefy just to be sure.

The only downside I've had is it can be a little loud on the highest setting, but I expect that from any blender.

"No VitaMix but OK -- wish it could liquify smoothies better" 2010-03-22
By S. Purpura
My wife made me return a VitaMix because she thought it was too expensive and not worth the $400 premium over the blender recommended by Cooks Illustrated. I'm not willing to get divorced over it, but the Vitamix does a much better job at actually blending. Strawberry seeds in smoothies are liquefied while they remain, annoyingly, in the smoothies made by the KitchenAid.

It's not that the KitchenAid is a bad blender. I've had it for a few months now and it seems to work better than most. It's just there is a real difference between the VitaMix and the substantially less expensive KitchenAid product. And you can tell in your smoothies, soups, purees, and other cooking.

 "Your Search is OVER" 2010-03-21
By Theresa Cooper
This is a great blender. I've been to multiple stores to look and various blenders and then read tons of reviews online....and I am so happy with my purchase of this KitchenAid blender. By far and away it is easier to clean then my old one, which had a blade/gasket assembly at the bottom. This blender does not require you removing the blade to clean. I was scared of this at first, that chunks of food would be left stuck to the blade, but it cleans easily. Also, very easy to mount the jar onto the stand--no more finagling.

However, the BEST part of this blender is the polycarbonate jar. It is so light, does not stain, and easy to clean. Even if you don't buy this particular blender, get one with a polycarbonate jar.

"I Love this My KitchenAid KSB560OB 5-Speed 56-Ounce Blender, Onyx Black Blender!!!!" 2010-03-18
By Cathi Gross (Ventura, CA)
This is a great blender!!! I have now had this Blender for 3 months, and have used it everyday and sometimes twice in a day. It is a Work Horse!!!! I have followed the directions for use and cleaning, and it still looks great and works great. No problems here. It is not overly loud or difficult to use. I feel my money was well spent. I have used it for smoothies, and Pancake/Waffle batter. I have also used it to mix together eggs, vanillia, and other types of liquids. It does a quick and wonderful job. Thank goodness I did not get one of the lemons, that I read about in some of the bad reviews. I would buy this Blender again.
