The Professional 5 Plus has a powerful 450-watt motor that delivers enough power to handle the heaviest mixtures, and mixes large batches easily. This special bowl lift model has brackets on the bowl that fit over support pins on the stand mixer, which is than lifted up by a handle on the right side of the mixer to lock the bowl in place while mixing (this design is made to handle heavy mixtures and large recipes). The 5-quart polished stainless steel bowl is dishwasher safe. Its ergonomically designed handle is contoured to fit the hand and makes lifting the bowl more comfortable. This mixer also features a unique mixing action: the beater spins clockwise as the shaft spins counter clockwise, moving the beater to 67 different points around the bowl. We have a smaller Kitchen Aid mixer that has been excellent for many years, but just not powerfull enough for dough when we wanted to do many pizzas for a large group. I had been reading about this model and decided to give it a try; WOW what a machine this is. It will take care of a large family get together and just about anything that you would want to mix up in large quantities. Great mixer, would recomend to anyone.

One of my habits is to buy a machine that has a good power to task ratio, usually that means a longer lasting machine. I also prefer a product that is tweakable and beefy. It must be simple to disassemble for cleaning and areas of contact should not self-destruct when doing so. As a non-professional, but adventurous cook it does what I need it to do (mainly whole grain breads and cookies). It is heavy enough to not jump around the table and is super simple to take apart for cleaning. The beaters and bowl make a reassuring thunk and click when properly seated, no guesswork, no fussy little knobs or housing twists to affect release or engagement, no spinning, flopping, off-center bowl trying to escape its turntable. It's even attractive. The mixer is not a do-all. I don't believe in the "everything machine". A mixer mixes. It doesn't chop, squeeze, make fettucini and sausage. Staying away from the attachments ensures a longer life. Yes, I like it.

After years of fighting with my Sunbeam I finally bit the bullet and got this marvelous Kitchen-Aid. I wish I'd had it when my kids were home and I baked cookies every other day. I can't believe how fast it mixes the toughest of doughs with no strain. Now baking is a pleasure, not a chore ! In spite of the awkward bowl I'd buy another if I had to. Best of all, it's made in the USA!!!!!

I have been around a KitchenAide mixer all my life. My mother and my Aunts loved to bake and they all had a kitchenAide mixer. This is my second. I gave my old one to my sister after she used mine and fell in love with it. That was my excuse to buy a larger Pro model. I'm so happy with it. Anyone that likes to bake should have a KITCHENAID MIXER. You can't go wrong or buy better.

I have had this blender for two months and it works great. Easy to use and easy to clean. Plenty of speeds and power. The recipes that come in the owner's manual are great. It makes enough pizza dough for two pizzas and a tasty cheescake. Only drawback: just one beater to lick clean. I recommend checking all colors because the prices vary.
