A very handy tool - while the cord is somewhat cumbersome the ability to run as long as I need it to without discharging is worth the price. I am unclear if it can support a beater attachment or not.

This was a Christmas gift for my husband but in fact, I wanted it for myself! it works beautifully in puree-ing soup both while in the pot or a bowl. The weight is fine too. I have only good things to say about this product.

"nifty gadget to make pureed soups" 2010-02-01

This hand held blender is soooo much easier to use and clean than my traditional blender. Cooking a creamed vegetable or lentil soup is a snap with this handy little gizmo. No messy pouring from pot to blender to pot. Just stick the hand held blender directly into the pot of cooked veggies and blend away. In seconds you have a pot of lovely pureed soup. And best of all, you know exactly what is in that soup!

 "powerful" 2010-02-01

I like that it has 10 speeds. It's very powerful, I don't think I'd ever need to set up above 6 or 7, I usually use 1-5. The only complaint is a minor one, and that is that the plastic guard piece behind the blade has a very slight gap between it and the metal, so it takes a little more care than just swishing it with water in order to clean it thoroughly. I also find that the power cord gets in the way sometimes. I wish it stuck out of the top of the immersion blender. Who knows, maybe if it did, I wouldn't like that either. This is my first immersion blender. Buy this immersion blender if you're looking for something powerful and that has variable speeds.

had seen it at a friend's and liked it after years of whipping cream manually. And I love the color (red).
