 "Great blender!" 2010-04-21
By Heather N. Holder (San Diego, CA)
I actually bought this blender as a birthday gift for my dad, and he LOVES it. He called me right after he used it and said that it's really heavy duty and could stand up to anything. He also said it's very large, and looks like a blender they would use in a restaurant. So if you are looking for something more compact, this might not be for you. My dad likes the size and the power of it so it was great for him.

 "Terrible item" 2010-04-12

This is the worst thing I have evr bought. I almost lost my finger yesterday. 25 stitches. Dangerous kitchen tool. Throwing in the garbage completely unsafe

"Great blender, but also my first" 2010-04-01
By Brad Clayton
Never had a hand blender before, but my wife started forcing weight loss shakes on me, and I'm sick of trying to stir that chunky nastiness into cold water. Too much work to clean up a real blender, so I tried this. Awesome. Makes shakes fast and easy, and now we're using it for all kinds of things (soups, etc.). Easy to clean, easy to use. Highly recommended.

"This beast works very well, but storage??" 2010-03-16
By Tom (NY State, USA)
I have used my "boat motor" 3 times so far, each time to blend soups. It does the job very well and does it very quickly. This is another winner from KitchenAid - small kitchen appliances that do the job and do it very well.

I gave a "star rating" of 5, due to the quality, power, and ability to do the task. My favorite "immersion blender trick" is to fill the container (included) half full of water, set the blender on the lowest speed, immerse in the jar, and turn it on. You can lift the blender and the vaccuum created will lift the container and keep it stuck to the bottom of the blender. Lots of power!

Being my first immersion blender, maybe it is going to take me some time to adjust to it, but my two unanswered issues are both with storage. I could stash it in a drawer, but I have no available drawer space. So I stand it up, in the beaker that came with it, in a cabinet. Every time I reach into the cabinet I hit the motor or power cord and the blender tips over onto the floor. First, what can I do with the cord other than wrap it around the body? And when put away, how do I keep it from falling over?

All in all, a wonderful product. I just can't come up with a storage solution that works for me.

"Excellent Appliance for the Price" 2010-02-28
By Matthew E. Coenen (Spokane, WA)
I did a bit of research prior to purchasing the KHB100 hand blender by KitchenAid. Considering hand blenders in this price range, this model has received excellent reviews on a multitude of sites (Amazon included).

The KHB100 (exactly the same as the 300 model sans all of the attachments) arrived quickly and was packaged rather well.

The adjustable blade speed (fast to super-sonic speed) knob is a nice addition; many models are either on or off. And, unlike some reviewers, I have zero issues with the power button. If you grip the mixer around the body, three fingers rest on the button and it takes little effort to power the machine. The KHB100 is also a few inches longer than similarly priced competitors.
