We never thought that making pasta would be so easy. The roller and cutter work very well and make the task a snap. Having fresh pasta is so much nicer that the dried products from the grocer. We are glad that we added this to our kitchen. KitchenAid Pasta Roller and Fettuccini Cutter Attachment

If you already have a kitchen aid mixer this is a great alternative to hand cranking, or cranking out the dough to buy an electric pasta maker. The kitchen aid mixer has plenty of power, and the size of the rollers works perfectly. Having a free hand, and not having to clamp the machine to a table makes it much easier to make great home made pasta. Horsepower makes it work much better than the cheap electric pasta makers or hand crankers with an electric attachment. I think you have to get into electric pasta makers well over $500 to equal this combo.....

We love to cook creatively and this attachment is part of our growing collection of gadgetsthat help us make "better than restaurant" food. Directions and assortment of receipes could be expanded. Following the exact ingredient measures did not yeild a dough pliable enough, so it took some experiementing. Wish there were some Alton Brown type directions to help cooks understand what does what in the balance of ingredients to create the dough consistency desired. Still it is a nice product so far.

 "Excellent!" 2009-12-14
By Poul A. Costinsky (Bellevue, WA United States)
Very rarely something is just a pure perfection. These two things are. Very solid, made in Italy, perfectly crafted machines. In the age when everything is made in China, poisons you with lead, and breaks apart on third use, it's a pleasant rarity.

The recipes in the booklet are also right on spot - the very first time I made the best fetuccine all of us ever ate.

Highly recommended.

Ordered Nov 24 and received it Dec 1st by FedEx. The price at around $83 inc delivery was fantastic, versus over $100 elsewhere. Also, there is a manufacturer's cashback of 20% valid to Dec 31 2009 (I hope it works), download the rebate form from: [...]

In my case, it was a decision between the Kitchenaid KRPA unit (consisting of pasta roller, fettuccine cutter, and linguine fine cutter) at $[...] (from Amazon) and this model, KFETPRA. We mainly eat lasagne and fettucini so I decided to do without the linguine cutter.

The instruction manual offers six pasta recipes: cooking pasta, basic egg pasta, semolina egg pasta, light wheat pasta, whole wheat pasta and spinach pasta. So I might defer buying another pasta cooking book.

We had fresh pasta at a New York restaraunt and couldn't believe how amazing the meal tasted. It was so good that it became the compelling reason for wanting this unit. It will be a gift for my wife.

It's a new unit, includes a cleaning brush and manual. And as per the manual, never wash or immerse attachments in water or a dishwasher! Clean off dried dough with the supplied brush.

Next, off to buy a drying rack and enjoy a fresh pasta meal after Christmas.
