See my comment to "Y. Hughes", above. The jacket works as advertised. The comments all seem to relate to the method of attaching it. It's not flimsy and if one of the tabs become bent for some reason just pull it back into position with a pair of plyers.

If you need this, you need it. It's good for lamingtons (an Australian classic) where you need a warm bath for the eggs if you're making Genoise cake from scratch and then a hot bath for the icing to keep it runny while you dip. Note that it's specific to 6 quart, bowl-lift mixers. It's very big but it needs to be for a 6 quart bowl.
The weak point is the tabs by which it hooks to the arms of the bowl-lift mechanism so that it goes up and down with the bowl. They're not exactly flimsy but they're very exposed and angular which means it's easy to damage yourself when washing/drying the bowl, and damage the tabs with a drop or heavy knock. In fact the KitchenAid packaging was grossly inadequate - just a cardboard box with no foam - so that the tabs were bent when the bowl arrived and had to be carefully straightened.

I bought KN2WJ from this vendor's website directly, just because S/H became free after purchaing $99 or more.
KN2WJ I received came with the instruction card for the K5AWJ.
The water jacket was slightly water stained, implying that it was probably used.
Without the right instructions, I could not attach the water jacket to my KP26M stand mixer.
I assumed that they sent the wrong water jacket since the instruction card was for the wrong water jacket.
Later, I found that the water jacket that they sent was actually KN2WJ.
However, I still have great difficulties in attaching KN2WJ to my 6QT stand mixer, due to its uneven tabs.
Attaching water jacket to my stand mixer caused scratches and scraping offs of the paint in the base and the arms of the mixer.
It also scratches the protective coating on the bowl.
I requested the correct manual for KN2WJ to be sent to me; however, the request has not been answered.
The customer service person asked me to return the item with insurance at my cost.
There is no explanation for the wrong instruction card and the water stain on the jacket.
I am not sure if this water jacket itself is designed badly, malfactured poorly, refurbished, returned previously by another consumer, or else.
Whatever it is, when the product you received from this company is not quite right, you are going to lose S/H and restocking fee to return this item. This company sells kitchen appliances quite inexpensively; however, I will not purchase from this company again. If you google the reviews for this company, you'll see that I am not the only one who had the negative experiences with them.
